Buying or Selling In The Beaches

Taking a Walk on the Boardwalk

It seems everyone has a name for this popular Toronto east end neighbourhood, for some it’s The Beach and for others The Beach.  Families are attracted to this area and if you look at the statistics you see that it has 14% more young children (0-14 years) over the Toronto average and 7% more working age adults (25-64 years).  The numbers just reinforce what you see walking along Queen Street east…this is a great family neighbourhood.

If you are house hunting you will find that homes here come at a premium so be prepared.   Here are a couple of things to be aware of when considering The Beach:

  1. Some streets do have termites so you may want to professional inspection
  2. Private parking is at premium so you will most likely face permit street parking
  3. Due to its high density,  you maybe closer to your neighbour so privacy could be an issue
  4. With the age of area, check for older knob and tube wiring and lead water lines
  5. Oh, and yes did I mention raccoons
