First For Pickering New Learning Centre – Fall 2012

Centre for Learning to Create New Downtown Dynamic

PICKERING, ON, June 15, 2011 /CNW/ – On June 20th, Mayor Dave Ryan will announce details of the City of Pickering’s first ever post-secondary education learning centre. In fact, it will be a double celebration as two renowned Ontario public colleges will be combining resources to establish this shared facility.

Centennial College and Durham College plans to offer graduate certificate and continuing education programs at its new Pickering Learning Centre for the fall 2012 semester. This special purpose, two-storey building will be located on the north side of Highway 401, at the office tower/bridge complex – the epicentre of downtown Pickering’s revitalization. As it will be connected to Pickering’s soon-to-be landmark pedestrian bridge, it will be the only public post-secondary education facility in Ontario that will offer a direct link to rail transit.
