East York 4th Quarter 2012 Housing Statistics

The Toronto Real Estate Board (TREB) closed out the year with the publication of the 4th quarter of housing statistics.    The final quarter of 2012 was certainly one where we saw limited listings, a drop in homes solds, however there was no drop in prices.  What we did see were fewer buyers in the market which was the result of new restrictions on mortgages implemented in September by the Minister of Finance.

East York is seeing an increase in house values, as urbanites see its affordability and its access to downtown as an alternate to moving further east.   Detached homes make up the most of the housing inventory as it allows home owners to renovate to increase overall value.
