So we are now starting our third year of providing monthly housing statistics.  From looking at my Google Analytics these statistics are popular launching point for those looking to get a handle on what is going on in our heated housing market.

Hands down, the Toronto Central detached housing market is the most expensive in the city.   On average you should expect to pay well over a million if owning a detached home is on your housing list.  Considering the neighbourhoods this should be no surprise.   Detached home sales lead the pack on most buyer’s list, but when you consider the prices they are garnering most see that these homes are out of their financial reach.

No small wonder when you look at some of the neighbourhoods which make up Toronto Central:

  • Rosedale
  • Leaside
  • Forest Hill
  • Lawrence Park
  • Casa Loma
  • The Annex
  • Cabbagetown

What you will see in the statistics is an over view of how Toronto central detached housing sales compare to those across the City of Toronto.    It should be noted that the Toronto Real Estate Board (TREB) publishes monthly housing statistics for the GTA.  What I found were that their numbers included Durham, Peel and Mississauga which were too broad and did not focus on the specific activity within the City of Toronto.
